Read and react wasn't the reason the d-line was off, they were just manhandled.

No real smoking gun here. The OL of WVU owned the LOS. The fact though is that switching the style of DLine play makes players think more and be less aggressive, leading to less tackles for loss and easier to block. Many good defenses use a more read style of defense it is just that this group of players are not used to that style.

Its exactly like Ricker taking an experienced OL and trying to change to zone blocking. They looked slow and ineffective.

Now a switch on the DL is slowing down our DL. The question is how fast can they pick it up vs when will BO go back to the old philosophy.
