We did play like shite

You and I have a different definition of shite. Playing like shite was on full display from UTk, Arky, UF, etc... We played a ranked team at a "neutral site" (I'd argue it was a home game, but w/e), and while we certainly made our share of mistakes, we held a team that averaged something like 40 points per game last year to 17 offensive points and one special teams score. Offensively, we were too reliant on Chubb IMO, but again hardly "shite". Limiting mistakes is key, and as long as we make fewer of them than our opponent and we don't continuously make the same mistakes over and over, it's a better look than we've had over the past couple of seasons.

I think we'll all continue to evaluate and we won't have a complete picture until after Ole Miss/Tennessee, but to call the performance shite is underselling it. It's Kirby's *job* to undersell it to keep the process going. Your comments were, as literally everyone ITT but yourself has noted, an overreaction. It's not the end of the world, just takes a bit of perspective.

Fair enough, I also have higher hopes for this season than most on here. And yes we definitely played better than basically the entire SEC, unfortunately that was saying much this past week.

I have admitted there were some highlights, and obviously Chubb was the biggest one. But there were a lot of struggles too. The O line made some really dumb plays, the run defense was not very good, thankfully UNC stopped running. You are right about the overall mistakes, they were better in the past, but I feel like there is a lot that needs in improvement.

Obviously we will keep evaluating, and hopefully improving. I understand that it's Kirbys job, but I'm also going to say what I think too. I don't think it's an overreaction at all. That's what's so ridiculous. Everyone is getting mad over my opinion. The fact is that people are overreacting to my opinion, but no one will admit to that.
