frustration that we were playing the exact same with Richt

Pretty sure you don't know very much about football if you believe this to be true. Name the last time you saw a lot of in game adjustments that made a big difference in the game under Richt. I loved the guy and to date I'd argue that he might have been the best coach we ever had (sorry Dooley), but his last 10 years were not the same as the first five. Essentially, he failed to capitalize on the early hype as well as further removing himself from the thing that he's best at: working with the offense/QB. Hell, he even said as much in his closing presser.

Just to name a few big differences in play: offensive line actually opened up running lanes (did not happen in 2015, Chubb had a good chunk of his yards after contact), tight ends and WRs *very* involved in the blocking game as well, 50% 3rd down conversions in game 1 is pretty damn good, particularly when you're only giving up 38% on the defensive side. We weren't the most heavily penalized team and when we were it was pretty clear the coaches had a handle on it and got the guys settled back in to what they were supposed to be doing, rather than snowballing the same penalties over and over.

I wasn't "doubling down" on a poor position. We came out and played better, and I admitted that, but overall we still didn't play great, and had a lot of areas of weakness, as Smart said himself.

Ultimately, while the matchup necessitated a somewhat boring gameplan and not a lot of splashy offensive trickery, we saw a *very* different product on the field and I think Smart's comments are just more indicative that he is not going to be complacent as we have seen happen in years past.
"It's never as good as it looks, and it's never as bad as it looks." = Stay focused, and control what is in your power to do so. Better, Better, never Best. Richt tried to go this route as well, the difference was there was not as much buy in.

It didn't turn into a grammar contest, it started out and has remained a bunch of grown men calling a poster names, because that didn't agree with him.

A) Yes, it did, one that you lost repeatedly and still fail to see.
B) If you've spent more than 30 seconds on this site, you'd realize that it's 99.99999% people calling each other names... pointing that out is a futile attempt to "gain the high ground" when you are holding on to a tenuous position. Just let it go.

"I was wrong about this. I was right about Chubb. Back to even for now. Go Dawgs!" - This would have been an easy way to end this fustercluck of a thread.

Exactly. A poster even credited you with the Chubb prediction...and he ate HIS crow. You should have done the same at about 830PM Saturday night.

ETA.
That poster was Sneaky Waffles:

It wasn't an overreaction, but keep posting gifs if it makes you feel better.

This statement and the entire paragraph with it shows you didn't read my whole post.

No I didn't. When you change and add in a word to a statement, it completely changes that statement.

I realize this site is extremely juvenile, which I don't obsess over it like so many.

I wasn't wrong at the time I posted it. I have admitted several times they played better afterwards, but still didn't play that well. Smart has said that he was sick when he researched the game.

Chubb is great, we got the win which is all that matters. Let it go.
