The players (plural) that had cramped were doing it. It wasn't just one guy. But yeah, the crowd shouldn't have booed them if for no other reason than it looked like they were booing injuries and made them look bad too.

Your fans apparently suck. They booed their own team as they went into the locker room at the half.
