Why do LSU fans get so mad when their school/team receives criticism?

1. It was never very loud.
2. So? My LSU friend came with me to the 2014 AU/LSU beatdown. It was a 41-7 AU. He mentioned to me a few times how loud it was, especially given the circumstances.
