Former Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham, a one-time 5-star recruit, has locked in an unofficial visit to Auburn and an official visit also is likely, AuburnUndercover has learned.
According to Taylor Hamm of GigEm247, Stidham will unofficially visit the Tigers for next week's season-opener at home vs. Clemson.
According to knowledgeable sources, Stidham very possibly will officially visit Auburn two weeks later when the Tigers play host to Texas A&M.
What would make that particular visit all the more intriguing is that sources continue to indicate this is shaping up to be an Auburn-Texas A&M battle.
Worth noting: According to Hamm, Stidham said Auburn is recruiting him harder than anyone at this time.
At Stephenville (Texas), Stidham was the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country for the 247Sports rankings in 2015. Auburn recruited him hard, but he ultimately chose Baylor.
As a true freshman, Stidham started three games for the Bears, passing for 1,265 yards, 12 touchdowns and two interceptions while completing nearly 69 percent of his passes.
He left the program this summer after the dismissal of coach Art Briles. He plans to attend a junior college this fall, but not play.
Stidham has told Hamm a decision on his future likely won't come until December.
Stidham attended Auburn's first practice of preseason camp and has communicated often with the staff.

Hopefully we get Stidham but hopefully if we don't Mond flips.
I would say I don't want to have to wait on Gatewood to have a chance to be good again but without a QB before him Gus will probably be gone and Gatewood along with him.
