OP made no mention of USCw. Alabama fan brought them up in first reply! All I was doing was pointing out in the cases where USC played the SEC opponents, they smoked them and and shutdown their Top 5 draft picks. Same can be said for other OOC opponents. Vince Young was finally able to find an answer. The only teams that were ever able to beat USCw during their reign were Pac 10 schools with the exception of Texas. A ranked 11-2 Kansas St team from 2002 can make the claim as well. They beat them right when Pete took over. I'd be curious to see some bowl records of Pac 10 teams vs SEC teams in the 2000-2005 era. I don't know those numbers right now, but I'd like to see them. Keep in mind USCw has never scheduled an FCS school.

Again - my point was pretty clear. If people here can't seem to figure it out, that's a them problem. If the response is to take it as some slight to USC or some sort of chest puff about Alabama, then you guys are bad at comprehension.

OP - Bama fears LSU becoming a threat

Response - LSU has always been a threat, as has entire league. League is hard, we are barely ahead. Example of opposite = USC dynasty in which they obliterated 2/3 of their league every season and had no threats.

Rant response - OMG YOU GUYS HATE USC

I mean, gracious

Let's put todays Pac-12 teams into talent context. If we averaged the last four years recruiting class rankings, here is what we find:

USC is about on recruiting talent level with Fla State, Georgia, Auburn.
UCLA is approximately in the same general category as Ole Miss, Tennessee, Clemson.
Oregon is about on level with South Carolina, Penn State.
Stanford, Washington, Az State are approximately talent equivalent to Arkansas, Michigan State, Mississippi State.

That puts the recruiting talent of these teams into context. Stanford is about on the talent level as Miss State. Let that sink in for a moment.

Now what happens with that recruiting talent in the next few years is a different story, and is why we play the game. The existence of a super skill player, Clemson's Watson for example, can shake up the talent equation...as can the absence of a key player - QB - OL, etc.

Still, on a recruiting talent level, the SEC is equal to the rest of the country combined.

By the way USC is not far behind the talent level of LSU, Ohio State... and will have the closest amalgamation of recruited talent to Alabama as anyone on their schedule except LSU. However, back in the day while USC was a top team, as was Texas, Oklahoma, Penn State, they did not face an SEC level schedule. And Alabama, Bear Bryant, Johnny Musso, Terry Davis (from Louisiana) et. al. handed them their hats in 1971.

Exaggerated. 2/3 certainly isn't accurate and they had threats. You ignored my point that the only teams who could beat USCw were teams within their own conference.

It certainly was a slight to USC - not that it was your primary intention. It was when I mentioned their performance against SEC schools during that era you started backpedaling and defending their successes. It's not hard to figure out the SEC strongly dislikes USCw...

2003 / 2004 seasons are big reasons. Split title in 2003 and Auburn's 2004 tantrum even though they did not have a convincing win over their Sugar Bowl opponent, Virginia Tech.
