That was the year LSU couldn't gain the respect of the AP Poll, and USC was recognized as National Champions.
Edit: Haha, and to add...all 4 of those SEC backs were First Round picks, 3 of them Top 5 picks! Jones was Pick 22 in 1st round.
And not a single piece of this was related to Alabama in any way.

The irony is that in an obvious troll thread, Summer of George gives a rational and respectful response, and he's accused of "hating USCw". You can't win on the rant. LMAO.

OP made no mention of USCw. Alabama fan brought them up in first reply! All I was doing was pointing out in the cases where USC played the SEC opponents, they smoked them and and shutdown their Top 5 draft picks. Same can be said for other OOC opponents. Vince Young was finally able to find an answer. The only teams that were ever able to beat USCw during their reign were Pac 10 schools with the exception of Texas. A ranked 11-2 Kansas St team from 2002 can make the claim as well. They beat them right when Pete took over.
I'd be curious to see some bowl records of Pac 10 teams vs SEC teams in the 2000-2005 era. I don't know those numbers right now, but I'd like to see them.
Keep in mind USCw has never scheduled an FCS school.
