GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida has suspended two players from the team, including All-American cornerback Jalen Tabor, coach Jim McElwain announced via the team website Wednesday.
"Both C'yontai (Lewis) and Jalen will not be involved with the team or practice due to behavior that is not acceptable," McElwain said. "By no means are these bad guys and yet consequences have been handed down. We will not look the other way when it comes to breaking of team policies."

Tabor has been an outspoken figure this offseason, with McElwain endorsing his highly visible presence on social media and in the traditional media. The junior even had his own media day to New York City, a trip sponsored and set up by the athletic association.
But apparently he did something that didn't sit well with McElwain. Both he and Lewis, a redshirt sophomore tight end, will miss the season opener against UMass.
"I want to echo what I said earlier, these are both fine young men who will learn and be stronger from their actions. They will also be suspended for the first game. There are life lessons in everything we do. We will be better because of it and no one person is bigger than the Florida Gators."
