If Saban had coached during the Bryant era, with the same format of determining the National Champion....
Saban would have 1, maybe 2 NC's.
2009 and 2012.
In the old AP Poll days LSU gets 2011 and Clemson beats Oklahoma to finish undefeated and #1 in 2015.
Of course, Sabans LSU team didn't win the AP

You're assuming that the bowl matchups would have been the same, which under the ild system wasn't the case.
Plus you forget that Saban's 2008 and 2014 teams finished the regular season ranked #1. Saban could have picked weaker Sugar Bowl opponents those years, just as Bryant did in '61 and '79.
