I would say Paul Johnson has to up there. People gush over him because they love his triple option offense and how it brings back memories of the good old days of college football. But if you look closely at his record, he's only 42-37 with one top 25 finish in his last six years as a head coach. His recruiting classes are perennially horrible despite being located in one of the most talent-rich states in the country. It's a case when reality doesn't really fit the narrative. Johnson's hyped up to a much better coach than he really is.

Agree perfectly on Paul Johnson.

Honestly I think Johnson should have been fired after last year's 3-9 season. I wonder if he would have been fired after 2015 if he hadn't lucked into a kick 6 win over the Noles.
