I'm from south GA, too. I don't have the utter disdain for it that you seem to have, but will readily admit there are better places to live, to include the mountains. With all that said, I would live in Fitzgerald over Douglas - barely, though.

I'm from Hazlehurst and currently live in North Ga. There is pretty much nothing on the face of the earth that could get me to move back to Hazlehurst.

A true tossup although Douglas years ago wasn't the worst place in the world. Fitz is just full of drugs especially Heroin and Meth and the only industry their is Trailor plants and cargo Trailors. I still think in that general area if I had a choice to live somewhere it would probably be Tifton and even that isn't saying much.
