In what cases were these same exceptions granted seriously? The only thing I have heard about the graduate rule is the standard guidelines: the kid has to sit out a year then he can play.

The two year requirement(of the two notated in smiths case) is used all the time.

As far as the SEC school to another school case, that exception is dependent the original school. So it depends on the coach to grant that exception to the rule, but again part of the process. its not really breaking or changing a bylaw. But in a perfect example Chris black.
