The only stat that he had Majors beat was KR yardage, but think about it, their defense was terrible, he got to return a lot more kickoffs.

Couple that with the fact that he's the only player in history to win the award on a team with a losing record, over a guy who had better stats on an undefeated team.

Hornung was a great football player, but he didn't deserve the Heisman.

So he ended up getting it because he was pretty much the whole team. QB, RB, K, P returner, etc?

The bigger question was why did Notre Dame suck so bad? That was their hey day
