Whenever I see these "greatest athlete" threads, no matter the criteria, Chris Jackson takes the cake for me. I know he went on to the NBA but I can probably speak for most people here in saying, he was a bust. Yeah, I know... He had some nice years but all in all flopped. Between the tics and the religion battle he was fighting, he simply faded.
As I've wrote before, I traveled with the the opposing team to Gulfport for the Highschool MS south State game. Somewhere between 1985-87. I was the ball boy. I vividly remember watching him warm up from the opposing bench. He missed twice in 25 minutes. The word freak was not tossed around back then unless you were referring to pistol Pete. Oh the irony.
