Prothro and Constant are great examples. I would see Constant working out when I was at Bama. Dude was a beast.
I remember when Prothro was a true freshman making outrageous plays on the scout team and burning the starters. Seeing him at the gym playing pick up ball after his injury, still limping, was one of the most depressing sights ever.
Freddie Roach comes to mind. He had so much talent and was making great plays as a freshman. I was a walk-on linebacker, and thought he was much more talented than Demeco Ryans. But Demeco worked hard and improved year to year, while Freddie peaked early, for whatever reason.
