I just don't buy this. LSU got absolutely bullied in the trenches the entire month of November last year. They're obviously SEC caliber players- see September and October- but collectively it's hard for me to buy that they're really that talented based on how things played out at the end of last season. I mean, the consensus on this website prior to the Alabama game was that LSU had the best offensive line in the country, and then they got manhandled 3 times. I'm sure they've gotten better, but I won't assume everyone else in the league sat idly by while LSU improved

We got better, but more importantly we got much deeper on the defensive side. OL has a ton of talent, but its the most "unknown" on our team IMO. I think a lot of getting pushed around at the end of year was Bama having the GOAT front 7 group 2 deep and our spirits just being fricking broken after that game.

Also, Brandon Harris' ineffectiveness in November did not keep any defense honest. They didn't have to "stack the box", but they knew they could play downhill towards the line every single play to stop the run.

And the new scheme on defense will be much different.

And Ole Miss did not destroy us in the trenches like Bama and Arkansas.

Their QB had over half their rushing yards on designed runs and broken plays and Brandon Harris had a QBR of 33.2 and we had 3 turnovers and god knows how many penalties.

And Fournette had a huge run to start the game called back.

That game was just sloppy from start to finish. Awful effort on the road. Bama and Arky pushed us around physically.
