iPhone gurus: How did a podcast just start on my phone?

Just finished a call, using headphones. After I hung up, a podcast started. I can't think of anything I did to start this. I have closed all my apps, but it's still going. The only way I see the title or controls is to hit the power button and send the phone to "standby", the push the home button. I see the lock screen, with audio controls and title of the podcast. I see a heart on the left. I hit that, and get a dialog box saying that this is my first "love", and I should choose more.

Any ideas? I don't do podcasts, so how this even started is curious. The fact that I can't identify what app is driving this is spooky.

I like to think I am reasonably up to speed on what an iPhone does, but this is new.

OK, so I found it. It is in fact a podcast buried in my library and showing up as a "song". I must have double-hit the hang-up button.

I have lots of "one-off" songs in my library, so I rarely look at an "album" or "artist" view, unless I am looking for a particular track. I use playlists, streaming, etc., so there is lots of stuff I my library I have completely forgotten about. I don't recall adding this podcast, but who knows?

Once I figured this out, I said to myself, "Self," I said, "why don't you check out what other podcasts may be clogging up the works and get them out of there?"

Then I realized iTunes does not even offer a podcast view anymore (at least, not that I can find).

Is it just me, or is the way iTunes manages these less than optimal?

I thought iOS now had a dedicated Podcast app. You may have to open that.

I don't know, I got sick of Apple's shite and went Android. Not to turn this into a stupid Apple/Android debate.

Sorry. I conflated things there. I found it in the library on my Mac. I syncs wirelessly, and it was just easier to look there.

Dunno. I haven't had iTunes to manage a podcast since about 2008. iTunes is some of the worst software out there. It's designed for the lowest common denominators and one of the many reasons I'm firmly in #ClubAndroid at this point.
