If you look at on the field results, the difference in overall records is 5 games. Worst decade at Bama since the 1950s and Alabama only lost 5 more games than Florida over that entire stretch.

Alabama has had higher highs and lower lows.

But higher highs matter more.

Is finishing 7-5 really all that more important than finishing 5-7?

Is coming in 6th in the SEC somehow a bigger accomplishment than 10th?

Would you really trade national championships so that your garbage years aren't as garbagey?
