But I would like help understanding how Texas has enough scholarships in their 2016 class to keep take so many ex-Baylor signees after signing a full class??? Anybody know?

Didn't they only sign 22 last year?

They signed 30 in 2015 and now have 28 in 2016

Attrition and counting back

How can you count back 5 from 30 to give you full 25. And then the next year count back 3 from your 28... Back on to the 25.
Still puts you over limit of 25 per year right?

Only had 22 enrollees in 2014, so at minimum they could count 3 back from the 2015 class that enrolled 28. Could be more if some of those 22 2014 enrollees counted back to 2013.

Here's how....
"Last August, walk ons Kyle Ashby and Ty Templin were awarded scholarships by Charlie Strong for their hard work and dedication to the Longhorn football program. This year, they are being demoted back to being walk ons so that Donovan Duverney and Patrick Hudson could be signed under the 85 scholarship limit."

This Baylor fiasco is going to bring Texas back to the forefront of the Big 12.

That depends on what coach they hire for next season.

I thought this was only an SEC rule, not an NCAA rule.

Fowler is not ready to go yet. I think he's still gotta pass a class.

I wonder where their 16 class would rank now

Who cares? Give'em 50 signees. That's not a very good coaching staff top to bottom. It's more than just Charlie Strong. They're just not very good. Quite suspect actually.

He won 11 and 12 games at Louiville after going 7-6 his first 2 seasons. He inherited a mess at UT. He is a damn good coach and once he fixes all the discipline non-sense he inherited they should win games.
