That has nothing to do with whether or not it was a legal search. the cop swore he smelled the weed. That's all he needs to conduct a lawful search.

That he found weed and guns means that a felony was being committed. It doesn't matter how much weed in Louisiana, it can just be the resin in your bowl, and it counts as possession of a dangerous controlled substance.

A ridiculous as that may be, it is still the law. And when these laws were being pushed down our throats, we were all told, "We are a nation of laws, don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

It's clear that a felony was committed.

But it's all about the air-conditioning.
