Questions:
Where did he go to school?
He's been elected to 5 consecutive 6 year terms (been in office every year since 1990). Why do people in his area continue to elect him?

Has reputation for going light on nonviolent crimes and pushing for severe punishment on violent crimes. Almost a direct quote on that is found here

Non-violent criminals shouldnt always end up in jail. Its a burden on the system. His comment, however, was so fricking dumb.

I wish there was a website you could go to and type in something like "jerry jones monroe la law school" and the website would deliver links to other websites that might have the answer. Maybe some day

What does the job pay? If it is a livable wage, he may just be doing it because he can't do anything else. If it is below livable, he's on the take.
Simple explanation for a lot of politics.
