The thing is, is that the Old Testament has or should have little to no bearing on Christian doctrine.
Unless you think Christians slaughter lambs and offer them up as burnt offerings, take baths everytime they have sex, won't eat pork, and keep their wool and flax separated.

Jesus is God. Either the Old Testament God is the same as the New Testament God or he's not. Pick a horse and ride.
It was always funny how much Christians want to draw a line in the sand to dissaccociate from the Old Testament God and the things like incest, murder and destruction he condoned. Jesus is God. And God is never changing. Either Jesus is the Old Testament God or he isn't. Unless your God has split personalities. Which a good argument could certainly be made.
