bullshite. From 1950 on, Florida has one of the three or four best overall records in the SEC. They have had only seven losing seasons in that 66-year span. When Spurrier arrived, they hadn't had a losing season in 11 years. Currently, they've had one losing season in the last 36 years.

The big knock on Florida was that they didn't win any SEC championships until 1991, although they got screwed out of one in 1984 (won it then had it retroactively vacated), tied for one (with a team they beat) in 1985 but were ineligible and won one outright in 1990 but were again ineligible.

Florida wasn't the premier program in the SEC, but to call them "pathetic" shows a...well, pathetic lack of knowledge of SEC football history.

True story:
One year, at the time of the skywriter's tour, when all the reporters were in Tuscaloosa covering Alabama, as usual, Coach Bryant hosted his annual skywriters cocktail party at Indian Hills CC. And as usual, after he'd gotten about a dozen scotches down, one of the writers asked him why Florida seemed to have the best talent on paper year in and year out, but could never win the conference title. Coach turned to him and said, immediately...with a straight face, "You can't run a football with a hard dick."....

I didn't read the whole thread so I don't know where u guys are on this one.

Here is my 2 cents. Why in the hell would any of you want the Iron Bowl to cease? It's arguably the biggest rivalry in the fricking nation. Our rivalry isn't always pretty. Sometimes it's a dumpster fire. But dammit who doesn't love a good dumpster fire now and then? I just don't see how anyone in their right mind would want to see the passion and tradition of the Iron Bowl go away. I don't want Clemson - South Carolina, Auburn - Georgia, Texas - Oklahoma, Mchigan - Ohio St, or any number of big rivalries to stop. It doesn't make any sense.
