I don't live there but but I like the Thomasville area. Its a smaller town but you are very close to Tallahassee.

I've heard the same about Thomasville. Nothing but good things, supposed to be a nice town.

As much as I personally don't care for the place, Gainesville, FL probably does meet most of those listed requirements. I personally want nothing to do with the place (and not because of the UGA fandom) but I know people that live there/have lived there who seem to like it well enough

I spent a few years growing up in thomasville and go every couple of years to see family. It has everything you mentioned minus good public schools. Population is around 20k but it feels a little bigger. Several very good restaurants and now they have a pretty nice bar although it's very hit or miss on the crowds. Hunting and fishing is top notch if you're into that. Great golf course if you're willing to be a member. Being like 45 mins from Tallahassee is nice if you need a little something more to do, however there's no huge entertainment events(big name concerts or sports besides FSU football). Oh and they have a very good hospital for the area there if you're in healthcare.
