Bielema, speaking at the annual L'Arche football preview banquet in Mobile, Ala., on Thursday, said his camp plans have had to be scrambled or scrapped in some instances because of competitors. "We were in a partnership with a school in Louisiana to go in and do one in New Orleans, but certain people in Louisiana didn't want to see that happen," Bielema told AL.com. "So all of a sudden that was removed. "We were going to do one in Dallas. The team we were going to do one with in Dallas was part of a [university] system that had a big brother that eliminated the possibility of that happening. For a month and a half, I'd been planning to do it. It was basically eliminated overnight.
The bigger part of this is why is LSU so scared of Bielema stealing recruits? I thought LSU had in-state prospects locked down?

Bc we fight to keep it that way obviously, just like every other program tries to do in their state.
kind of like people with money want to pay less taxes, and people with no money want them to pay more. You want a recruiting handout?
Why would we not keep your hands out of our wallet if we can. You'd do the same if anyone wanted what's in yours

IIRC, coaches from other LA schools (save for Tulane) were going to be involved in LSU's camp. LINK

“Nothing’s more important than Louisiana to us," he said, adding that the same appears true with schools such as Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana Tech, as well as lower-level programs, that will work in-state camps with LSU next month.
. . .
“I don’t know that they’re going to get out of that what they want,” Miles said of Tulane. “If you’re an in-state school, you want that prospect that just might fall out of the view of the SEC. If there’s a bunch of SEC schools in here, there’s a likelihood at some point in time they take one of their prospects.
Maybe those schools felt that getting paired up with LSU was more profitable for them than pairing with Arkansas?
