If he is academically ineligible to play at State, he will have to go JUCO correct? The SEC put new rules in place that I thought stated a kid couldn't transfer from one conference school to another if that kid wasn't eligible to play at the school he was transferring from right?

If he goes JUCO he won't be eligible there either because of their draft rules. Since he declared, he's ineligible per NJCAA rules (they're different then the NCAA rule that allows you to come back).

I'm sort of lost.

He can't play at a D1 school, because he'll have to sit out a year. He can't go Juco. If he were going to the NBA D-League, why doesn't he just say so? Maybe he's going to Europe?

What's the point of going to a D-2 school or an HBCU where he could play right away? Doesn't it make more sense to just stay at State and make progress on your game?
