This is part of the reason people are lobbying to get rid of the ncaa. They are god, judge, and jury. They obviously are biased amd it pisses people off. You get different school around the country harassed by the NCAA for some dumb arse kid signing jerseys, and alabama kids are driving around in custom rims and new cars. Like wtf... NCAA is at a tipping point and they know it. Don't poke the bear too much.

There is nothing forcing your school to be a part of the NCAA. If you don't want to play by the rules than as a school they should leave.

Need to understand, too, that the NCAA isn't just some organization made up of suits with no affiliation to the schools they rule over. Rather the NCAA has a few suits at the top (Emmert and such) followed by representatives from all of the member schools that serve on different boards and committees. Also need to realize that the NCAA is currently under the most scrutiny and legal pressure that it has ever been. If they seem biased, it's largely for two reasons:

1. When they made rulings against Southern Cal, Bama, Auburn, FSU, etc. they did so in climates that were entirely different from what they currently are. Now, the NCAA not only has to uphold its rules but it has to also back up the arguments it makes in court lest they completely torpedo their own defense in these current cases and appeals.

2. Since the Committee on Infractions is made up of multiple representatives from different member schools (in addition to oversight by Emmert and Co), you've got to remember who the NCAA really serves. While they claim to be defending the interest of the student-athletes, really they are serving the Presidents of their member institutions. The notion of Amateurism not only saves Universities a ton of money, it makes them a ton of money. Anything that threatens that money-making ideal (especially in this day and age of big TV contracts which did not exist during cases like Miami, So Cal, etc) is going to be met with harsh retaliation.

Dude. There's really nobody "lobbying" to get rid of the NCAA. You're so stupid.
