Nah. We are just looking at it logically. Why delay the response? Why release the response on a Friday before a 3 day holiday weekend leading into summer if not to hope it is buried and forgotten in a 24 hour news cycle?

You realize Nick Sabah invented this move?

When did Alabama release the firing of their defensive line coach for recruiting violations?.... Yeah STFU

I didn't say it wasn't smart. I said it's what you do when you are in the wrong and you want coverage of the story to be brief at best and die, which is what I would bet is the case with Ole Miss.

The day they fired him. On a Thursday. Happened to be the day of the draft, but it was the day he lost his job.

You realize Alabama didn't fire him and then wait 90 days to talk about it, right? You also see the difference in the situations (i hope) in terms of level of severity and swiftness of Alabama's response to the wrongdoings of a staff member.

Hate to break it to you, but that move was invented a LONG time before Nick Saban or Hugh Freeze sat foot on this earth.

Anybody involved in ANY activity that draws public interest releases potentially bad news on a Friday afternoon and preferably one that also has a holiday on the other end.

That's pretty much PR101.

As to the Wolken and Neuheisel quotes, the fact is that neither of them actually know more than any random poster on tRant. They're both guessing just like the rest of us.
