Whether he plays football or not IF he did not hurt anyone and he only bought a stolen gun then he doesn't deserve felony charge. If he broke in to someone's residence or assaulted someone to obtain the weapon throw the book at him.

Obviously I hope he continues to play football at Alabama but regardless of his college future in football I really would hate to see someone 19 -20 yrs old ruined because of idiocy.

I don't agree with this. If they can reasonably prove he knew he was buying a stolen gun I have NO problem with a felony. I am a huge supporter of gun rights but I also think that people who screw around and violate gun laws should be punished. I don't give two shits about the weed but these kids rolling around with guns (stolen) in the middle of the night is a big freaking problem.
