Yeah, not a dumpster fire.

I admittedly said that for Rabern57 benefit.

quote:

I know we've been through this before, but Auburn wins 3-4 more games last year with a QB who could execute.

Yes. And so would Georgia. Problem was, neither of us had that. I always thought that Marshall was more important to your offense than Mason was. not belittling Mason, at all, I just felt that Marshall made the offense click.

quote:

It's not the offense adapting to personnel, but it's an offense that thrives on big plays.

You may be right, but the QB that can execute and is a threat to run is what makes those big plays happen. Also, you can't have a QB that gives the ball up.

quote:

I'm fine with Steele. Auburn in this era isn't defined by defense.

Maybe. but he is a definite downgrade from Muschamp. Can you survive with an inferior Defense? Yes, but ONLY if your offense is hitting on all cylinders.

quote:

That was only a problem last year with a talented QB who couldn't handle the pressure, then starting a freshman who was hobbled by a knee injury, and then losing your best receiver mid-season.

We will have to agree to disagree, then. You struggled from the very beginning. You struggled with an inferior Louisville tea. It got worse with Jax State, and went steadily down hill. Losing your receiver might have hurt, but your problems were evident long before he went down. You had three games in which you actually looked decent. Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Alabama. Other than that it was pretty bad, and I will chalk Alabama up to a team that took Auburn lightly and put forth a less than honest effort. (You can argue Arkansas, but....)

And when you look at this years schedule it gets ugly. A bad loss to Clemson could send your team into a tailspin.

I won't tell you there aren't problems and a lot of us were unhappy with the way things unraveled. But to try and lump 2015 in with a 2012 is disingenuous. Gus never lost the team and has made some changes to the staff (not all by his choice) that should allow for him to coach more of his own style.
The staff still recruited incredibly well despite losing 3/4 best recruiters and aside from the marijuana incident, it's been a relatively quiet offseason.

Georgia hasnt won a national championship since Jimmy Carter was president and hasn't even won a SEC championship since George Bush was president. The fact that you talk shite about other teams with that record shows how fricking delusional Georgia fans are
