Until someone proves otherwise, this has to be the general assumption. The funny part is that Alabama will be the consensus pick to win the West, with LSU and Ole Miss being picked next in either order by most people, but somehow LSU will be retroactively the preseason favorite when the season plays out.
This is always a fun contradiction on the Tiger Rant. Pumpers pick 12-0 and Haters pick 8-4. When we go 10-2, somehow the Pumpers claim we overachieved and the Haters claim we underachieved. Revisionist history is alive and well, both there and here.

Exactly what happened with UGA and UT last year. UGA was the preseason favorite, but everyone likes to think we were and we failed, even though we did what we were expected to do.
