A&M is like a rich kid with a large inheritance; never really earned anything - it just kind of bubbled up out of the ground - yet brags about his/her wealth even though it's just a creation of circumstance and not their own ability, all while envying their dad because he's left his mark on the world and is the only reason he/she is relevant. Texas is America's Saudi Arabia.

Born on third base & thought they hit a triple.

...and never scored.

A&M was originally planned as a branch of the University of Texas. In 1931 Texas state legislature split the University of Texas System's PUF endowment to include 1/3 going to A&M.

A&M is the oldest public university in Texas founded almost a decade earlier.

Nice! Only think missing from A&M's facility is an on-site alcohol rehab clinic.

And maybe some pens to keep the QBS from getting loose.

I had to confirm this by using Google. Texas a&m is the oldest university in Texas. So really Texas is A&M's little brother.

It's not even debatable that Stanford was 100x more deserving than any big12 team

Politics and charity was the only reason your pathetic team made it there to be curb stomped

The funniest part is their mascot name is derived from A&Ms yearbook, the Long Horn.

They literally have nothing original whatsoever

This has been hypothesized but never proven and never happened.

I on the walls of DKKR itself in its history hall, the story of Bevo being named because of the 13-0 branding is documented. But none of these t-shirt sips can afford to go in that area

Texas Almanac & Texas State Historical Association or good ol' Sarge.. who would you consider the more legitimate source?

from the TSHA:

The Constitution of 1876 provided that a "university of the first class" be established at a site selected by a vote of the people and that it be called "The University of Texas." The Agricultural and Mechanical College was to be a branch of the main university.

The very link you posted makes it clear that it never occurred

Aggie is Daddy, back then and to this day

quote:

With the legislative session of 1873, The main building was completed by the end of 1874 and additional buildings were constructed. In 1875, the Legislature separated the administrations of A&M and the University of Texas, which still existed only on paper. The Agricultural and Mechanical College formally opened on Oct. 4, 1876.

Senile fool or just illiterate?

Another correction for the fantasy world otherwise known as "AggieLand".

Bevo was not named as a fabrication from a branding. As far as the walls of DKR go.. perhaps your histrionic display of brilliance was projected by the fake national championships that adorned the walls of Kyle Field in College Station?

read up Old Sarge..

The best thing A&M had going for it was back in the day if they beat Texas they got to go to the Chicken Ranch. Now they can't go to the Chicken Ranch just like they can't go to Atlanta in early December without a ticket.

You catch on so quick... revisit my quote:

"A&M was originally planned as a branch of the University of Texas."

That "originally planned" was your first clue to the fact that it never happened.

Senile, drunk or dumb? Which is it old man?
