Exactly. The NCAA will not take heat for punishing Ole Miss. They have a regional brand at best. The majority of the fan base is in Mississippi and Memphis.

I posted this in another thread, but it bears repeating here. Freeze talks before the draft about changing the way things had been previously done at Ole Miss. He even said he might "shed a tear tonight". I bet he did...for different reasons.

He is a hypocrite of the religious kind. This country will tolerate hypocrites, but they will not tolerate religious hypocrites.

OM is an easy mark for the NCAA. Unless the SEC comes to the defense of OM, they are likely in some deep shite.

This dovetails with the recently passed religious freedom bill. People want to see Mississippi punished in some way. Now you have an elitist school caught red handed cheating. The NCAA gets the rare opportunity to look like they are taking the high road by absolutely crushing the school. People who know nothing about sports and football will nod in agreement.
