Regardless of how correlated or non correlated UNC's investigation is to ours, I do find this interesting and informative. I for one believe(d) that a NOA being sent out is the end of the investigation. So when Bjork said the investigation is complete, I believed that was the end of it. Second letter stuff started coming up from you guys because...

A. the allegations in the first letter were not enough to really damage our program.

and

B. Because previous recruits are still being interviewed. The mindset being, if the investigation is over, why are they still investigating? Well my response to that, right or wrong, is why are MSU recruits being interviewed as well? Are y'all under investigation or is the NCAA following up on tips and doing their due diligence. The latter makes more sense.

So I have to admit, when I saw this thread, I got a little nervous, until I read this.

quote:

The first document hit the school with five potential top-level violations, including lack of institutional control. UNC had 90 days to respond, but that process paused in August when the school reported additional information to the NCAA for review.

We have not stopped the process or added information to the investigation to force the NCAA to send out a new NOA. Our response is complete and ready to be sent out.

McCready believes that the NCAA believes OM cheated, but cant prove it, and because they've invested well over 3 years into this, they will use the Saunders stuff to punish OM more severely than normal. I tend to agree, but the NCAA is known for going by the book and going off of pass precedents. We shall see.
