n Florida's defense, a good bit of theirs are in fish camps.

A lot of folks in Texas live in an actual house and work in one of the big cities full time, but keep a trailer on the family ranch for when they're out there working or hunting. Probably inflates Texas' numbers too.

The data comes from a census survey, so no, none of those structures are included unless the residents were included in a census count for that physical address, rather than their primary homes.

Actually in coastal counties in Florida the number of parks for manufactured houses (impressive way of saying trailers) is declining because the value of land is worth so much.

Here in Pinellas County (Clearwater, St Petersburg) there are at least 10 parks that have been sold for development in the last ten years. Only the resident owned parks are safe unless they vote to sell and cash out. I expect a lot more parks will sell out soon...the real estate market in Florida has finally starting going upward the past couple of years.

Retirees are a lot more active than they used to be. But tourists? The main beach road is clogged at times and its also because of younger yankees and spring breakers. I have to be careful driving along the beach with all the scenery in March/April
