So what about pedofiles? Are we as a society just ignorant and we don't understand them so we should allow them to have their child fetishes?

No but there are examples of pedophiles (that's how you spell it) who've had brain tumors, chemical imbalanaces similar to someone with a personality disorder. So while you don't let them live out their fantasies, maybe something medically can be done in the future to help them.

Do you really equate pedophilia with Transgenderism? Bringing it up in this thread indicates that you do.
Pedophilia is a sexual orientation. It is a pathological sexual orientation. Those men and women who act on their urges are extremely harmful to society.
Until we can modify the brains of those people who are harmful to others, they should be removed from society permanently because they cannot change on their own.
Currently, there are 19 states that have lifetime " involuntary civil commitment" for convicted pedophiles who have served their prison sentences. The Supreme Court has validated those states' rights to protect children in this manner. I really don't understand why all states haven't done this.
