Yeah, that's what didn't make any sense. He's not a coach, but he is on the staff.

What is the unfair advantage? A former player working on staff at his school, but not a coach? How is that any different than a non-former player working on a team's staff and not a coach?

I don't get it. The "former player" angle is throwing me off.

Its not the former player part. Marcus runs his own FB camps in the area and I guess the NCAA sees that as a way to funnel talent towards the program. It makes sense I guess. They did leave the door open for him to have his "Life Coach" role in the athletics department as a whole, he just cant be listed as a member of the football staff. Or at least that's how I interpreted it.
