If you base it on the previous year's numbers I assume you mean on the numbers that are returning?
If so then there is no way bama has the #1 DL. The returning numbers on the DL (except for allen) are not that impressive. Not much production for the backups.

I base it on who I think will be the most talented and effective defensive line. I think, considering who they return, that Alabama being #1 is pretty defensible.
