If basketball had the dumb idea to take computers and voters and come up some confusing system to have a one game national championship, Calipari would have more titles.

Bama would have crushed that shitty Seminole team last year and that would have been the natl champ game but since they have playoffs now and other teams became involved Bama got beat before they even got to champ game. If it ever goes to 16 teams you will not see this type of dynasty. Its just tougher and it relies on actual playing of the game and not just what people think. And computers for frick sake. I still cant believe people take the BCS seriously.

Those people must love gymnastics and figure skating or the slam dunk contests or beauty pageants

John Wooden won titles when there were only 8 teams in the tournament and they were only conf champs. Its extremely tougher to win now

I mean, maybe, but as has been started numerous times basketball and football are different games. Basketball is much more like baseball than football in that it is a sport that should be decided in series, not one game. Like RTR said, March Madness' 1st weekend is fun, but it's a terrible way to pick a champion.

However, Alabama had as much of a "playoff" system as one could have pre-playoff in CFB. They beat the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the country in 2009 (Texas and Florida), beat the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the country in 2012 (Georgia and Notre Dame). I would agree that maybe one of those years they lose to to a team with an extra round, but I don't think it is a given. The sports are just different.

Cal is great - in no way has Kentucky "failed" because they haven't won more titles, but I would think that people would be just kind of sit back and say "damn it" after being so close last year and the UConn year and only having 1 to show for 7 great years.
