Skai is injured and won't participate in contact drills. Important for everyone to keep in mind this is just the depth chart for spring practice, not for opening day.

Ah yeah forgot about that. Well hopefully this spring we can get our depth some much needed reps. Depth I think is what really makes a team truly good.

You knowwwwww ... there is talent on that team. A few big question marks and plenty of room for the summer enrollees to contribute - but there is talent on that team. Enough to do something with I would think.

Gotta find another running back and two serviceable QBs. Need a WR or two to step forward.

I dunno why, but for some reason I think our D is going to be much better.

I have to agree. Muschamp is a motivator. Steve Spurrier did not leave the cupboard totally bare. Remember, we had Top 25 recruiting classes every year of the last 4 or 5 years. There is talent that I think Muschamp can tap into and energize, something Steve clearly had lost.

I'm excited to see what Will can do.

The thing about RB is that freshmen and transfers can contribute right away.

BTW, what's the latest on the former Bama kid who is supposed to try to enroll in May? Any word?

Plus we've got a couple of decent looking prospects coming-in this summer.

(On a side note we have two big time defensive line prospects visiting tomorrow, correct? Both could enroll this summer if I remember correctly?)

Haven't heard anything on Tyren Jones. Also, it should be said that Rod Talley is one of the, if not the, overall fastest guys on the team. He could be our version of Keith Marshall and have a bruiser as well.

Well damn ... owell. That's too bad - we could have used him.

I agree rooster, I think our D will be MUCH improved over the past couple of years. I'm not quite sure what to think of our offense though...

Here are some notes from what I've read about the first practice and that I saw from some video and photos. If any of you are members of 247, check out the photo feature from yesterday's practice.

- It gave me a grin to see Ellis Johnson in Gamecock gear at practice.
- Dexter Wideman looks to be in much better physical shape than last year.
- Our OL is big, but they don't have huge guts hanging over. Some have more access skin in the abdomen, so it looks like they've dropped a good bit of weight in a short time.
- Ulric Jones is a big human being.
- Bryan Edwards was in a reg jersey, not yellow, so I think the injury from the fall wasn't that serious.
- Several of the players spoke about the intensity and tempo of the practice. One mentioned that they've been training that way in the offseason, with Coach Dillman, to prepare for this kind of tempo/intensity today.
- Victor Hampton was out there too.
- Blackshear was at practice, but in yellow. He still looks to be in decent shape for a guy who was shot in the chest and leg 3 months ago, he hasn't packed on weight. Keeping his weight in check will help him be ready for fall camp.
