payne played a bunch last year. He actually played in every game. He did start as a true freshman but, it was only in three games. Not like he would be considered a returning starter. Right?

hand avg one tackle per game, 15 games played - 16 tackles.

As for the backup Dlinemen. frazier and smith played in a combined seven games with a total of five tackles. Jucos are a hit or miss situation. Plus, king was only a 3* but bama fans will claim him as a 5* recruit for future reference.

Solid starting three. Don't think they will be as good as the '15 starting three. Backups are nowhere near as experienced as the '15 group.

Psst, just between you and me. anderson didn't start a single game last year. foster did start for half the season though. Hamilton even got a few starting nods himself.

Did the tide sign any other LBs beside davis and wilson? If not I would take a class that signed five 4*s and one 3* over them. Safety in numbers. Who had miller as a 5*?

Anderson was a pass rush specialist along with Tim Williams. So of course they didn't technically start, but he started at his position (pass down end) every game.

Foster started half the season? Foster started the entire season at MLB.

I mean, sounds good. We're pretty comfortable with our LB depth chart

SAM - Ryan Anderson, Rashaan Evans
MIKE - Reuben Foster, Adonis Thomas
WILL - SD Hamiltion, Keith Holcome, Ben Davis
JACK - Tim Williams, Christian Miller, Mack Wilson

We signed the #1 ILB and the #2 OLB in the country in a year in which we already have good depth at the positions plus a few DE/OLB hybrid guys who are Top 50 players. We feel pretty good about the class.

Thanks for proving my point, tons of returning starters and experience in that front 7. When people said Bama had two starting front 7s last year, that wasn't hyperbole. Bama started and rotated a ton of guys last year depending on sets, who we were playing, etc. Ryan Anderson played every bit as much as Devall last year and probably more whether he technically started the game or not. He was also far more effective and has been considered a starter the last two years in our camp.

As far as stats for our DL, I won't waste time educating you on the role of a DL in a base 3-4 defense. Suffice it to say Payne, Allen and Hand/Tomilson will comprise one of, if not the best DL in the nation in 2016. King being a 3-star means very little. He will be a solid back-up. And just FYI...Jerran Reed was a 3-star JUCO for us a couple of years ago.
