Thought I'd give a little love to my fellow SAU alum. Dude came from absolutely nowhere and turned into a good, starting pro. Still can't believe his story of walking on at SAU not knowing anything about the school or program...incredible.
For anybody that doesn't know his story...

That's awesome! I didn't know anything about the guy until reading that. Thanks for posting.
I guess we can assume the assistant recruiting him at Arkansas was either Tim Horton or Steve Caldwell? Maybe Tracy Rocker? I don't remember if Caldwell came on w/ Petrino or was a hire in Hootie's last year. Nutt doesn't seem smart enough to have hired Caldwell though.
Thornton's story is one that should serve a reminder to coaches across the state and the ones on the hill. There's talent and athletes in Arkansas, you just have to treat the state like the diamond mine in Murfreesboro, you gotta get out there and dig and get your hands dirty and get down and look and look and look until you come up with something interesting.

Amazing that he started out at like 6'3 215 LB and turned into a 6'4 305 NFL D Tackle. Kid just wanted to play and gave it everything he had.
