Wasn't there some smoke in the last few months that he was thinking about "retiring" after the academic year is over?

JJ in December:

"I'm not retiring, stepping down," Jacobs said on WJOX-FM's Opening Drive. "I don't have anything else that I want to do right now. I love what I'm doing. When I get to the point I'm not excited about getting up and going to work every morning for these student-athletes I'll probably do something different."

He said at the time he had a "multi-year contract and I plan to honor it."

Yeah there was talk towards the end of the season but it didn't pick up much steam.

Like many have pointed out, even if Jacobs is fire there'll just be another puppet put in his place. Change has to come from the very top all the way down.

I could actually see Les Snead being the primary target. Once the Rams are settled in LA, I think he and Fisher are our the door. Les would be the text book Auburn hire
