How has Bama been with their coaching hires besides Saban . Remember Rich Rod was Bama's first choice.

Ever or recently? I think we hit a home run with Avery Johnson, I think Curry is slowly turning around women's basketball (she inherited a steaming pile of cow dung), Saban is obvious, Gaspard is a joke. I think that Anthony Grant was considered by everyone in basketball to be the best available mid-major guy and a future star, so I don't really fault Mal there. Also, Rich Rod was not our first choice, he was our choice when it became clear Saban wasn't going to budge. Rich Rod was the safety pick.

I don't think Mal or Battle are particularly great with coaching hires. Mal and Battle are and were, however, as good as anyone at management and fundraising.

Besides Saban? You mean other FOUR football coaches that won national championships?
