if Henry was a top-3 RB in the nation i'd probably say alabama is RBU right now.
but he wasn't so.. idk but alabama still probably has an argument for it ingram, trent, lacy

2 Heismans, 3 finalists, 2 Doak Walkers plus Lacy, Yeldon, and Drake in 7 years. It's not even debatable.

After Fournette and Guice are gone LSU will have something to say about it. Jeremy Hill to present has been outstanding. Before as well of course but this current crop is pretty unreal.

I could care less who gets called RBU, WRU, DBU or anthingelseU. Be my guest.

no, not at all. just my opinion. i was just pointing out that star ratings are a good indicator of a player's abilities. these guys are top-notch across the board and have been the main factor in separating wins from losses. without the benefit of the great offensive lines of arkansas or the dominant overall rosters of alabama. without the threat of a passing game. in 2014 georgia's backfield made an offense without an aerial attack the number one scoring offense in the conference. against sec defenses loading the box every week. when healthy, they're that good.
lsu has an elite talent that is among the very best in football. georgia has had 2 of those. that's all i'm saying.

LSU has had some damn good RB's over the years, including a Heisman candidate currently. but Georgia is RBU
We appreciate the shoutout from LSU fans, but right now Fournette and Guice says it is LSU in the coming season. Alabama in the near past. Arkansas has had their share as has Auburn. After this season wraps up we can look back and crown a new king. But most of us would give up a AnythingU for a National Championship. That's all that counts.
(I could make a case for LSU having the best RB corps last season in spite of Henry's huge year. LSU and Alabama had a sick running game last year.

georgia's past 5 feature backs have been crowell, marshall, gurley, chubb and michel.
Sorry to disagree, but none of these reached their potential while at UGA....yet. Chubb can if he comes back strong in 2016. Michel could, too, but I would not count him (at this time) as a top RB in the SEC, AT THIS TIME.

yeah, until chaney proves he can get georgia clicking in any area offensively, georgia is vanilla u currently.
lsu probably has the best running game going into next season. tennessee has a great talent. arkansas has an awesome running game. no one can say with any confidence what georgia will be.
alabama is just footballu. their recent body of work separates them from the rest in most discussions comparatively speaking.

It's USCw. Not even close.

I had forgotten about Tennessee. Good catch. Hurd and Kamara will be tough again.

Maybe 20 years ago, but not anymore. Just my opinion.

that's cool. you're obviously a humble fan, as am i.
but chubb certainly has. he filled the shoes of the best back uga's had in the past 30 years and the offense barely missed a beat...and followed that up as a heisman favorite going into 2015. within a month, he had tied a record set by herschel himself.
crowell has reached pay dirt 13 times in his nfl career in 2 seasons...he has reached his potential.
todd gurley just won oroty honors in the nfl and made a franchise forget the running back they had who finished 6th in the 2013 heisman race...reached his potential.
michel came into a hopeless situation last season. he's very very good. when you move him around the field, he's a game-changer.
marshall...meh. you're right.
i mentioned that georgia never finishes the drill. its backs fall victim to that. they can't match bama's backs in terms of achievements, but no team can match bama in terms of achievements period.
georgia's backs are second to none the past 5 years. going forward, another team will probably have the claim.

It's USCw. Oj, mike garret, Marcus Allen and reggie bush all won heismans. Bama is modern day RBU.

I love Chubb. I actually like him betetr than Gurley. But he has to put another solid season on the boards. If he stays healthy and does that he is capable of winning the Heisman.

Maybe. He spent on troubled year at UGA, though. Wasted talent. So much potential.

Was hurt and suspended for long periods of time at UGA. I meant they did not reach their potential while at UGA. Great RB's all of them. LOADS of talent.

Absolutely right, there. he played very well under bad circumstances last season. He needs to be the feature back and put up at least two big seasons before I am sold on him, though.
Hey. You make great points and I like them all. (Well, I never cared for Crowell)
I just want to see a UGA back go three good, strong years. That would make a believer out of me.

But nothing in the last 20 years or so. I took it we were talking about current RBU. All time? yeah. Probably USCw.

Drake is being included in this conversation?
Ingram, Lacy, Richardson, Yeldon, and Henry bringing up the rear.. that's as solid as you can get and honestly an incredible run.
Hill, Fournette, Guice.. gonna be just as good

Drake probably gets drafted. He had a solid senior bowl, and he will likely do the same at the combine. It's RB, a devalued position in the NFL where guys come from nowhere to be major assets. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Drake ends up being better than many of the recent Alabama RBs.
