If Sims had played Michigan state instead of osu and had the 2015 defense instead of the 2014 version, it might be a fair comparison. as it stands it's disingenuous at best.

What about comparing tOSU to Clemson? Very comparable teams.

tOSU ended the year ranked #3 in total defense. Clemson is ranked #2.

Both games the defense did not do well. They gave up 537 yards to tOSU and 550 yards to Clemson.

Which quarterback's stats would you rather have for a big game?

QB A: 22/36 237 yards 61% 2 TD 3 INT
QB B: 16/25 335 yards 64% 2 TD 0 INT

That is like saying Eli is better than brady based on the two super bowls they played one another.

If the question is who played better in the post season. I agree Coker did.

Couldn't finish reading that post because it missed my point. I'm not trying to compare the games. I only said it that way to illustrate how absurd it is to evaluate players that way. My point is that Sims did not lose us the OSU game and Coker did not win us the Clemson game. The teams did; it's a team game. They were on different teams.

This whole argument about one being better than the other because one went all the way and the other fell short just makes no sense. Granted it's really the only argument for Coker as the better qb since Sims put up mugh better numbers while being asked to shoulder much more of the load on a worse team than Coker was. (After he beat out Coker in a head to head competition.)

If you like Coker more just because you like him, cool, I get it. But this "Sims cost us games and Coker is a winner." just doesn't make any sense to me. Don't see how anybody that watched the two play could think that.

Since we're looking at this one game Sims didn't also have the advantage of 2 HUGE busted corvages that lead to 2 TDs. I'm pretty sure that would've helped his stats out.
Again how could Sims not put up similar if not better numbers if he had been in Coker's sitution?
