And I agree with most of that. But the idea that Grant can't develop players when he was one of the keys in developing our B2B team makes me laugh.
He's pretty much Frank Martin without the temper from an in-game perspective imo. The biggest difference between the two is that Martin has been able to retain his players more effectively.

Grant was a terrible head coach at Alabama. Nobody cares what he did as an assistant at Florida.

I suppose it is a pretty small "sample size" in the amount of bigs he actually had at Alabama.
However, if his development (and maybe more importantly whoever on the staff was specializing there) wasn't really the problem then scouting which bigs to recruit (or bring in a JC transfers) certainly was.

Developing players in college goes far beyond just getting guys to the next level it is maximizing and utilizing their full potential to win some damn games. Grant failed at that more often then not.
This is from one of DraftExpress' main college scout:

Super impressive win for Bama. Not sure any staff has done more with less than Avery Johnson and his staff.
That is developing players. Seeing what Retin, Norris, etc.are turning in to under his coaching is an absolute joy to watch.
Grant is a damn good assistant, hence why Billy hired again, but he just wasn't cut out for the Bama job. I hope he learns from it and from his time in OKC to become a good HC because he is awesome person.
You are just reaching a lot in this thread.
