Decimated team yet still in the mix for a dance and beat 4 really good teams on the resume.
Boy oh boy was Grant bad. Like Mike Dubose bad. I hope we get to face him one day for the years he has set this program back.

Does Larry have a good point?

Grant wasn't Dubose bad. Grant has had success. It didn't work for him there. But, the state also went through a sucky period with high school talent. All of USA, UAB, Alabama, Auburn sucked in basketball the last 5+ years.

We were under .500 last year. He set us back, even if Gottfried never took us far.

Gottfried took us pretty far. To begin with.

Got turned took us far, but he left us in a dumpster.

One good year. 2004 was luck. We were a Pettway miss away from being bounced by Southern Illinois.

We were heading toward essentially our 2nd straight .500 record when Gottfried was fired.

Grant set us back, dude. It didn't kill us completely, but he hurt us. From players transferring to bringing in guys like Engstrom, Grant didn't help Bama basketball

That was pretty common under Gottfried as well. Players hated him.

I'm not disputing that Gottfried was going down fast. He got lazy. Grant did the same thing.
Johnson has spent more time selling the program today than Grant did in his final three years at Alabama. If Grant had been about promoting the brand, he'd still be the coach.
Instead, his players and fans quit on him. He was a great hire, but way overrated when you look at what little he did once Gottfried's recruits were gone.

Exactly and the program had no energy or excitement surrounding it whatsoever. It didn't help we were an absolute bore to watch and Grant refused to do hardly any media interviews or promote the program.

Upset that it was easier for him to have success at VCU, than Bama?
2 tournament appearances(in fewer years), compared to one.

VCU doesn't factor into the equation at all. We're just mad he didn't have more success at UA.

I'm not sure about this, but for certain every single thread you start proves just how bad you are.

Shhh. There is no room for sense in a Larry thread.
