Rockytiger was the one of the main Auburn apologist deniers on the ATPB, I am sure he had more post on the thread than I did.
Mostly great shite Like "frick You" etc. Nothing was ever disapproved my anyone. There was a federal wiretap for over 6 months in the biggest lobbyist firm in Bama. This lead to a bunch of indictments and plea deals. One of the targets was Milton Mcgregor and another Robert Geddie big Auburn Boosters who was supposedly involved in paying Cam. McGregor owns the Victory land Casino outside of Auburn.
LINKRumors were rapid that there was discussion about the Newton deal on the 6 months worth of tapes. LINK
Long story short, McGregor was about half the guys were acquitted even though the other half turned on them, and the jury found them all innocent despite overwhelming evidence and it being thought to be a unlosable case. OJ style. The US Attorneys said frick it and that was that.
LINK
The thread started out about scam Newton but was really about the incredible amount of political corruption in Bama. If they would have been able to get convictions, they were have been dozens more politicians indicted in next round. Mcgregor told everyone if convicted he would take down Gov Riley and many more. The main people on the thread were active and retired Feds, and law enforcement. And I guess I can say this now, information was shared law enforcement in the thread as well.
It is all too bad, but Bama is a cesspool of corruption that rivals any I have ever seen, and I grew up in South Louisiana.
Chicken tolerated the thread as it drove some much traffic to the site, and was quoted on radio, etc. But after the acquittals it was done, just like the attempt to clean up Alabama.
